Project Development
For this week, it was required to document our progress in the final project, mentioning:
1. what tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?
I Started with the design first.Most important part of my project is the mechanical area.
Designing and mechanical working trails is the main thing i have to finish.
The i am trying out with a single servo motor i am confident enough to finish the electronic part since i have already tired working of a servo motor during outoust week.
2. what has worked? what hasn't?
When I first had the idea of the project, I thought it would be a simple project, Yet, it wasn't. The concept of the project is something a demo of original working of a 1:1 scale building facade.The real challenge for me is doing the working mechanism, but I am enjoying it and there is a lot more to learn.
3. what questions need to be resolved?
The main complex part is the mechanical working.i am looking upon pivot joint design for starting my designs.
4. what will happen when?
Now I am working on pivoting joints working part and the basic presentation and vedio.
5. what have you learned?
Fab Academy overall was a huge learning experience for me. I have many things which was extremly new for me but i loved learning all those from my fab lab team.Few of them are listed below
Technical:
a. How to develop my own REAL website, not through just a template, but using CSS and HTML.
b. How to deal with version control and repositories.
c. New softwares skills like fusion 360.
d. Electronics and PCB design
e. I was introduced to AVR and its programming.
f. I was introduced to 3D Milling using CNC and the molding and casting process.
g. I was introduced to Composites.
h. How to do networking
Personal:
a. Documentation has been always something which i was trying to learn each day.
a.Time management was a pretty big challenge.
c. Communication and teamwork.We were total 6 in class.Our team was such a blessing that each day turned so much good and worth.
d. Having a mentor is something essential and it's a life changing thing,our instructors Jogin and Salman are the best part of kochi fab lab.Their decision for us was that much great.Really feeling proud for being trained under them.
e. There is never failure but lessons learned.
It was totally fun!
